NEWSLETTER
Bonjour
Parents,
It’s June! We’ve worked really hard and really well this
year. It went by quickly and we had lots
of fun together! We wanted to take this
opportunity to thank all of you for your support and enthusiasm throughout the
year. We had a great year with your
children. Thank you very much for making
this teaching experience so rewarding and positive!
For this month, we will be mainly
just focusing on our cultural projects
and preparing for our “mini-folklorama” on Thursday, June 20
(11:30-12:30). This is part of sciences humaines, français and English. Other class routines will continue until
further notice.
Mathématiques:
We will be mainly focusing on double digit addition with regrouping. All other math routines will continue.
Sciences
de la nature: We have almost finished our solids,
liquids, and gases unit, and then we will be learning about buoyancy. We will
be designing tin foil boats and testing them out to see how many pennies they
can hold!
Home
Reading will officially stop the week of June 16,
however we strongly encourage the children to continue to read at home in
French and in English throughout the summer.
We will need all the books back that week, so please check at home for
any books. To help with keeping up with
French during the summer, we suggest listening to music, reading, talking,
playing, watching videos, etc. all en français.
It’s a good way to keep a positive outlook in learning another language,
it’s always valuable and will help with entering grade three! Congratulations on a successful year of
reading! Bravo!
We have quite a busy month with
extra-curricular activities as well!
Please keep an eye on your school calendar for the month to stay on top
of school activities since there are plenty!
Thank you to all the volunteers this
year and thank you to all of you for bringing snacks to our parties and class
celebrations! Greatly appreciated!
Hopefully we’ll see you on June 20
for the Cultural Celebration!
